Perth Glory Soccer Formation
Starting Lineup
Sutton · Kaltak · Wootton · Risdon · Amos · Bozinovski · Sutton · Lawrence · Taggart · Kucharski · WalesPerth Glory looks to control matches through a heavy high press and aggressive verticality using a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup is built to hunt the ball in the opponent half and quicken the tempo once the ball is won. The goal is to pin the opposition back and create constant pressure through a wide attacking front.
Sutton guards the goal as the final line of defense. In front of him, a back three consisting of Wootton, Kaltak, and Risdon stays compact to deny central runs. Wootton and Risdon cover the wide areas of the defense to prevent crosses, while Kaltak holds the center to win aerial duels and block shots. The unit can step up together to compress the pitch when playing a high line.
The midfield relies on a double pivot of Bozinovski and Amos to provide stability. Bozinovski works to intercept passes and shield the defenders, while Amos drives forward to connect the play. Further up, Sutton and Wales occupy the wide attacking midfield roles. These two players push high to support the attack and act as links between the central pivot and the forward line.
Attacking the box requires the three forwards to work in unison. Taggart leads the line as the lone striker, using his presence to hold up the ball and bring others into play. On the flanks, Lawrence and Kucharski operate as wide attackers who look to cut inside or stretch the defense. They press the opposition full backs constantly to force mistakes and create chances for Taggart.
A major strength for Perth Glory is the ability to create wide overloads through the combined movement of Wales, Kucharski, and the overlapping support. The team can also press high in coordinated waves, making it very difficult for opponents to build play from the back. This high intensity creates many chances through quick transitions and turnovers in the final third.
This 3-4-3 formation focuses on relentless pressure and rapid attacking transitions. It is best suited for games where the team needs to dominate possession and overwhelm a defensive opponent.
