Sam plays as the attacking midfielder to drive the team forward and find pockets of space. In the attacking phase, Barcelona utilizes three attackers to stretch the opposition. Iris plays as the lone striker to hold up the ball and run the channels, while Theo and Lachlan C act as wide wingers. Theo operates on the left and Lachlan C on the right, both looking to cut inside and create chances. This front line presses hard from the front to win the ball back immediately after a loss.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, using the forwards and midfielders to suffocate the opponent. The presence of Sam in the hole allows for numerical superiority in the central areas, making it hard for teams to mark everyone. Additionally, the width provided by Theo and Lachlan C creates space in the middle for the midfielders to make late runs.
