This central pair must maintain compactness to avoid leaving gaps between the lines. Their movement allows the wide midfielders to push higher, effectively turning the formation into a more aggressive lineup during the attacking phase.

The attacking unit relies on the creativity and pace of the front three. Edouard leads the line as a lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and create space for his teammates. Saint-Maximin operates on the left, using his dribbling style and explosive pace to beat defenders and cut inside. On the right, Thauvin looks to provide width or wrap crosses into the box. This front line is expected to press aggressively to force turnovers close to the opponent goal.

This system offers several tactical advantages, particularly in its ability to create wide overloads. When Chavez and Niang push up, they combine with Saint-Maximin and Thauvin to overwhelm the opposing full backs.
