A heavy emphasis on high pressing and verticality defines Lens and their 3-4-3 formation. This lineup aims to win the ball high up the pitch and quickly move it toward the goal. The team seeks to dominate through intensity, looking to disrupt the opponent's buildup before they can settle.

RISSER stands between the posts to anchor the defensive unit. The back three consists of SARR in the center, with MEDINA on the left and BAIDOO on the right. SARR acts as the central pillar to block crosses and sweep up loose balls, while MEDINA and BAIDOO provide width to the back line. When the team sits deep, these three stay compact to deny space between the lines, but they step up quickly to squeeze the playing area.

In the middle of the pitch, a central duo of HAIDARA and SANGARE controls the tempo and provides protection for the defense. SANGARE and HAIDARA must work hard to intercept passes and shield the back three. They connect the defensive unit to the front line by finding the wide players or the striker. The wide players, NIANG and BERMONT, act as wing backs who provide the necessary width, covering the entire flank to support both attacks and defense.

The attacking unit consists of three players designed to stretch the opposition. EDOUARD leads the line as the lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and lead the press. On the wings, LIN and SIMA operate as wide attackers who look to cut inside or drive toward the box. This front three works in unison to press the opposing defenders, forcing errors that allow the team to break the line and attack.

One major strength of Lens is the ability to create wide overloads when NIANG and BERMONT push high up the pitch. This forces the opposition to defend more space and can leave them vulnerable to quick switches of play. Another advantage is the compactness of the unit when defending, as the three central defenders and the two central midfielders sit close together to deny central penetration.

This 3-4-3 formation provides Lens with a potent platform for aggressive, high-intensity football. It is ideally suited for matches against teams that struggle to play out from the back under heavy pressure.
