RISSER acts as the last line of defense in goal. Behind him, a back three of SARR, BAIDOO, and GRADIT maintains a solid block to protect the central area. BAIDOO holds the center of the defense while SARR and GRADIT provide cover on either side. The wide midfielders, UDOL and AGUILAR, act as wing backs who must cover the entire flank, pushing high to support the attack and dropping back to help the defenders when the team loses possession.

The midfield works as a central pair to control the tempo and bridge the gap between defense and attack. SANGARE and THOMASSON operate in the middle to control the center of the pitch. SANGARE provides a presence to shield the defenders and break up play, while THOMASSON looks to drive forward and connect the lines. This double pivot allows the team to stay compact while ensuring the ball moves quickly to the attackers.

In the final third, Lens employs three attackers to stretch the opposition. EDOUARD leads the line as a lone striker, tasked with holding up the ball and making runs into the channels. On the flanks, SAINT-MAXIMIN and THAUVIN provide significant width. SAINT-MAXIMIN uses his dribbling ability to cut inside from the left, while THAUVIN looks to create chances from the right side. These players press high to force turnovers near the opponent's goal.

One clear advantage for Lens is the ability to create wide overloads when AGUILAR and UDOL overlap their respective wingers. This movement forces the opposition defense to shift constantly, creating gaps in the middle. Another strength is the speed of transition, as the team is built to win the ball and immediately launch attacks through the pace of SAINT-MAXIMIN and EDOUARD.

This 3-4-3 formation provides a heavy pressing identity that can dominate games through sheer physical presence and directness. It is a system best suited for facing teams that struggle with high pressure and wide defensive coverage.
