The midfield functions with a combination of central control and wide presence. Casadó and Bernal operate in the middle to shield the defense and link play, with Bernal looking to dictate the tempo. Gavi plays as the attacking ten to drive forward into the final third and create chances through his pressing intensity and tight ball control. On the flanks, Bardghji and Cancelo push high to provide width, with Cancelo often looking to cut inside to create overloads in the half spaces.
