The wide defenders SIMA and GARNIER play as wing backs, tasked with pushing up the flanks to provide width while tracking back to maintain a solid defensive block when the ball is lost.

The midfield operates as a double pivot consisting of SANGARE and THOMASSON. These two players must work hard to cover the central areas and shield the back three. SANGARE acts to intercept plays and break up opposition rhythm, while THOMASSON tries to drive forward to connect the defense to the attack. Their main job is to win second balls and immediately look for the front three once they regain possession.
