Tigre Football Formation
Starting Lineup
FELIPE (ZENOBIO) · ALAN (BARRIONUEVO) · GERMÁN (GUIFFREY) · MARTÍN (GARAY) · NAHUEL (BANEGAS) · JALIL (ELÍAS) · JABES (SARALEGUI) · ELÍAS (CABRERA) · PITY (MARTÍNEZ) · TIAGO (SERRAGO) · DAVID (ROMERO)Tigre plays with a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup is built to press high and play with verticality during transitions. The main goal is to win the ball in advanced areas and move it quickly toward the goal. This 4-3-3 allows Tigre to maintain constant pressure on the opponent in their own half and forces mistakes in the build up during the early stages of play.
FELIPE stays between the posts to organize the defensive unit. The back four operates as a cohesive unit, with ALAN and GERMÁN acting as the central pairing. ALAN covers the space while GERMÁN holds his position to block runs. On the flanks, MARTÍN and NAHUEL push up to provide width. They overlap to create crosses, leaving the central defenders to track back and cover the space behind them. The defensive unit stays compact to prevent through balls.
The midfield works to control the center of the pitch. JALIL and JABES sit in the middle to protect the back four and break up opposition play. JALIL covers ground to intercept passes, while JABES drives forward to link the play. ELÍAS plays as the attacking ten, operating in the pockets between the lines. ELÍAS receives the ball to turn and find the attackers, making sure the connection between defense and attack is fast and direct.
In the attacking third, DAVID acts as the lone striker. He works to hold up the ball and bring others into play. TIAGO and PITY stay wide to stretch the opposition defense. TIAGO cuts inside to create shooting lanes, while PITY uses his pace to beat his marker on the wing. This front line presses hard from the front to force mistakes in the build up of the opponent and creates constant movement.
This formation offers several tactical advantages. The presence of JALIL and JABES allows for numerical superiority in the middle when they step up to press. MARTÍN and NAHUEL can create wide overloads by pushing high, which pulls defenders out of position. The team can also use its speed of transition to catch opponents out of balance and exploit gaps in the defense.
Tigre relies on a high pressing 4-3-3 to dominate territory. This formation is best suited for matches against opponents that struggle to play out from the back under pressure.
