Starting Lineup

Arju · Udin · Bagus · Rudi · Opan · Rezi · Dani · Uta · Untung · Nafid · Andri

Persipa looks to play a high tempo, direct game through a 4-2-4 formation. This lineup focuses on stretching the opposition by spreading the attackers across the pitch to create chances in transition. The goal is to use the width of the field to bypass the middle of the park and get the ball to the strikers as quickly as possible.

Arju sits in goal to command the defensive area. The back line operates as a flat back four with Udin and Opan acting as the full backs. Udin plays on the left to cover the flank while Opan handles the right side. In the center, Rudi and Bagus act as the central defenders to hold the line and defend zonally. They must stay compact to ensure they do not get caught out when the team pushes high up the pitch.

The midfield functions as a double pivot to provide some stability in front of the defense. Rezi and Dani work together to protect the back four and try to win the second ball. Rezi acts to shield the defense while Dani looks to carry the ball forward to connect the lines. This duo must be ready to transition from a defensive stance to an attacking one the moment possession is regained.

Persipa utilizes four attackers to pin the opposition back. Untung and Uta operate as wide wingers, with Untung on the left and Uta on the right, both looking to cut inside or stay wide to spread the defense. Andri and Nafid lead the line as a duo of center forwards. They work to find the feet of each other or make runs in behind to stretch the defensive line. The attack relies on quick combinations to catch the opponent out of position.

One main strength is the ability to create wide overloads when the wingers and full backs work together. The team also benefits from the speed of transition, as the four attackers can immediately press the opposition back line upon losing the ball. This creates a lot of pressure on the opponent in their own half.

This 4-2-4 formation is built for a team that wants to play with high intensity and directness. It is best suited for matches where the opponent plays a high line and can be caught on the break.
