Columbus focuses on a high press and rapid verticality, operating within a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup seeks to win the ball high up the pitch to catch opponents out of position. Preston stays between the posts to command his area, often acting as a sweeper behind a high line. The defensive unit employs a flat back four, where Nicolas operates as a right back and Wyatt functions as the left back. Caleb Dorrance and Jace act as the central defenders, with Caleb Dorrance focusing on aerial strength and Jace providing cover to sweep behind the high defensive line. The back four must stay compact to prevent long balls, with the full backs ready to push up to support the midfield.

The midfield works as a three man midfield with a carrier and an attacking ten. Robyn and Caleb occupy the central roles, with Robyn working to shield the defence and Caleb driving forward with the ball to link the lines. Alex plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to find pockets of space to play through the lines. This trio works to compress the midfield and ensure that no opponent can easily progress through the center of the pitch.

The attack uses three attackers across the front to stretch the defence. Braxton leads the line as a lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and pin the last defender. On the flanks, Houston and Aaden act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goal scoring chances. These wide players look to isolate the opposition full backs in one on one situations or move into the half spaces to support Braxton. The goal is to create runs in behind and use combinations in tight spaces to break the line.
