Fermín plays as an attacking ten behind the striker to link the lines and make late runs into the box. On the flanks, Balde plays as a left midfielder and Koundé operates as a right midfielder to provide the necessary width and support the wide areas.

The attack utilizes three players across the front to stretch the defence. J.Álvarez acts as the lone striker, looking to hold up the ball and find the feet of the attackers. On the wings, Yamal and Raphinha act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create scoring chances. This movement allows Yamal to isolate a one on one wide and forces the opposition to defend tight spaces. The forwards are tasked to press from the front, forcing a long ball and winning it back high up the pitch.

This formation offers several tactical advantages for Barcelona. The central density created by Pedri, De Jong, and Fermín allows the team to win the second ball and recycle possession quickly. The wide players like Balde and Koundé provide the ability to switch play rapidly to the flanks. This creates wide overloads that can pull the opposition defense apart.
