Cancelo and Koundé provide the width on the left and right. Cancelo will push high to overlap the winger, while Koundé can shift to help the two central defenders. This group works to recycle possession.

The attack features three players across the front to pin the opposition back. J.Álvarez leads the line as a central striker to hold up the ball and link with the midfielders. Yamal plays as an inverted winger on the right to cut inside and create chances, while Gordon stays wide on the left to stretch the defence. The team uses short passes and wide players to deliver early crosses. When the front three press the opposition back line, they aim to force a long ball that the central defenders can win.

This formation offers a massive advantage in terms of wide overloads. When Cancelo and Koundé move forward, they can double up on the opposition full backs to create space for Yamal or Gordon. Numerical superiority in the middle of the park is another strength. With Pedri, De Jong, and Fermín, Barcelona can play through the lines and keep the ball in tight spaces. This allows them to maintain high pressure and force the opponent into making mistakes.
