Finland aims to play a high press with a direct vertical style using a 4-2-4. This formation is built to push the opposition back and win the ball high up the pitch to create immediate scoring chances. Feliz stays between the posts to command the area and organize the back line. These two players must be ready to cover the space left behind when the full backs push forward, ensuring the team does not get caught on the break.

In the attacking phase, Finland uses four forwards to pin the last defender. Vifor and Väpä operate as wide wingers who hug the touchline to create width and pull the opposing full backs out of position. In the center, Mortis and Mä act as two forwards in a partnership, looking to run in behind the defensive line or combine in tight spaces. This attacking unit is designed to hit in behind on the transition, using the movement of the wingers to deliver crosses or cutbacks into the box for the two centre forwards.

Finland gains a significant advantage through the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for opponents to build play.
