Rodri acts as the anchor to shield the defence, while Pedri works to connect the lines and find the feet of the striker through clever passing. Fermín operates as the attacking ten, looking to arrive late into the box and press aggressively. On the edges, Cancelo plays as an attacking left midfielder to provide width, while Koundé operates on the right to help recycle possession and secure the wide areas.

In the final third, the team employs three attackers to stretch the defence. Yamal and Adeyemi act as wide wingers who want to cut inside to create goal scoring chances. Abdelkarim functions as the lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and pin the last defender. The movement of the wingers combined with the runs from Fermín and the overlaps from Cancelo creates constant pressure in the half spaces. The aim is to isolate wide players in one on one situations or play through the lines with rapid vertical passes.
