Buddin (/Alip) · Epung · Tepung · Alip (/ Faiz / Buddin) · Adib (/ Isom) · Arip (/ Sheva / Temmy) · Temmy (/Arip) · Arlan (/ Rahmat) · Mahfud (Wizard) · Waung (/ Rijal) · Tulim / Rt edi (/ Bagas)Barcelona aims to control games through a heavy high press and rapid vertical transitions using a 5-3-2. This formation allows the team to stay compact while looking to strike quickly once the ball is won. The lineup is built to dominate the central areas and use the wings to stretch the opposition during the attacking phase.
Mahfud acts as the last line of defense, standing behind a back five that can shift between a wide and narrow defensive block. Alip sits at the center of the defense to organize the line, while Waung and Tulim / Rt edi play as the wide centre-backs to cover the spaces left by the wing backs. Buddin and Epung function as attacking wing backs, tasked with providing width and making runs to the byline. This defensive unit stays close together to deny the turn and make it difficult for opponents to play through the middle.
The midfield works as a three-man midfield with a carrier and an attacking ten. Adib plays as the attacking ten behind the two strikers, looking to find space between the lines and deliver through balls. Arip and Tepung occupy the central roles to protect the defense and connect the lines. Arip acts as a shield to intercept passes, while Tepung looks to drive forward with the ball to link the midfield to the attack. This trio works to compress the midfield and win the second ball to maintain pressure.
Barcelona utilizes a two forwards in a partnership to lead the attack. Temmy and Arlan operate as the strike duo, often playing on the shoulder of the last defender to hit in behind on the transition. Temmy can hold up the ball to allow others to join the play, while Arlan looks to make runs into the channels. The attacking movement relies on the wing backs, Buddin and Epung, to overlap the winger and create wide overloads. This movement forces the opposition back line to stretch, creating gaps for Adib to exploit.
This formation offers great strength in terms of compactness when defending and the ability to create wide overloads from overlapping full backs. Because of the five defenders, Barcelona is very hard to break down in central areas, and the team can transition from a deep block to a high press very quickly. The presence of Adib in the hole ensures there is always a link to the two strikers, making the team dangerous in tight spaces.
The 5-3-2 formation provides Barcelona with a solid foundation for both defensive stability and quick attacking bursts. It is best suited for games against teams that play with a lot of possession and require a disciplined unit to absorb pressure before hitting them on the break.
