Racing focuses on a high press and rapid verticality through a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and strike before the opposition can settle. The team aims to use aggressive movement to stretch the defence and create chances through quick transitions.

Julen acts as the last line of defence behind a flat back four. Pedro and Facundo form the central pairing where Pedro operates as a ball playing defender to initiate play while Facundo provides cover. Álvaro serves as the right back to support the attack while Jorge plays as the left back to maintain the defensive line. The unit works to squeeze the space and keep the distance between the lines small to prevent the opponent from playing through the middle.

The midfield functions with a three man midfield with a carrier. Iván and Gustavo work to press aggressively to win the ball high and protect the central zone. Sergio operates as an attacking ten behind the striker to connect the lines and find spaces between the opposition midfield and defence. Gustavo and Iván are tasked to win the second ball and recycle possession when the initial press is broken. Sergio looks to receive on the half-turn and play through the lines to find the front three.

Racing utilizes three attackers across the front. GIORGI acts as a pressing centre-forward to harass the opposition back line and disrupt their build up. Yasser and Iñigo operate as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central overloads. Yasser pulls wide to stretch the defence before cutting in, while Iñigo looks to isolate a one on one wide. This front line is designed to create runs in behind and allow the midfielders to arrive late into the box.

A major strength of this Racing lineup is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. The front three and Sergio can trigger a press that forces a long ball from the opponent. Another advantage is the width provided by the wingers which allows the team to switch play quickly and find space on the flanks. The team can also break quickly once the ball is won in the middle third.

This formation relies on high intensity to disrupt the rhythm of the opposition. It is best suited for games against teams that struggle to play out from the back under pressure.
