Barcelona focuses on high pressing and controlling the ball with a 5-2-3 formation. Raphinha, the captain, leads the line as a pressing centre forward who works to trigger a press when the opponent tries to build from the back. Anthony Gordon plays as an inverted winger on the left, looking to cut inside and create central presence, while Lamine plays on the right. Lamine tends to hold the ball and isolate wide players in one on one situations to create chances. This front line aims to pin the last defender and create runs in behind through quick combinations.

A major strength for Barcelona is the ability to create wide overloads using the wing backs. When Pedro Porro and Joao Cancelo push up, they provide constant width that allows the wingers to move inside.
