Lens focuses on a high press and quick transitions using a 4-3-3. This formation is built to win the ball high up the pitch and strike before the opposition can settle. Robin operates between the posts to organize the defensive line. The back four consists of a flat line where Saud plays as the right back to provide width while Matthieu acts as the left back. In the center, Samson and Jean-clair form a partnership where Samson can cover the space behind the wing backs and Jean-clair works to intercept passes. This unit works to squeeze the space and maintain a high line to keep the team compact.

The midfield functions as a three-man midfield with a carrier and creative outlets. Andrija and Yacine operate in the central roles to control the tempo and shield the defense. Yacine works to win the second ball and intercept play, while Andrija looks to carry the ball forward into the attacking third. Florian plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, finding pockets of space to create chances and link the midfield to the front line.

Lens employs three attackers across the front to pin the opposition back. Thorgan plays as an inverted winger on the left to cut inside and create central overloads, while Abdallah stays wide on the right to stretch the defense. Franjo acts as the lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and find the feet of the runners. The forwards press from the front to force a long ball and trigger a press from the midfield unit.

One major advantage for Lens is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, with the front three and Florian pushing up together. The team also gains numerical superiority in the half-spaces when Thorgan cuts inside and Florian moves into the hole. This setup allows for quick transitions where the ball moves rapidly from the midfield to the wide players.

This 4-3-3 formation creates a heavy presence in the attacking third through coordinated pressing. It is best suited for games against opponents who struggle to play out from the back under pressure.
