Hull focuses on high pressing and verticality through a 4-3-3. This formation is built to win the ball back high up the pitch and quickly attack the opposition with direct passing and wide movement. The lineup aims to stretch the defence by using the full width of the pitch while maintaining enough central presence to control the tempo.

In goal, 86 acts as the last line of defence. The team utilizes a flat back four where 82 at right back and 82 at left back are expected to push high to support the attack. In the center, 79 and 80 form the defensive core, with 80 acting to cover space while 79 stays more central to hold the line. This unit works together to keep a high line and squeeze the space in the middle of the pitch.

The midfield operates as a three man midfield with a carrier and two creators. The 83 at RCM plays as the primary engine to drive forward with the ball and transition the play. Meanwhile, the 82 at CM sits deeper to shield the defence and recycle possession, while the 82 at LCM connects the lines by finding space between the opposition units. This trio works to compress the midfield and win the second ball during transitions.

Up front, the attacking trio uses three attackers across the front to pin the last defender. The 82 at LW and 81 at RW act as wide wingers who stay high to provide width and deliver crosses. In the center, 82 plays as a pressing centre forward to harass the opposition back line. This combination is designed to create runs in behind and allow the wingers to isolate players in one on one situations when they cut inside.

Hull offers significant advantages through the ability to press high in coordinated waves. By using the front three to trigger a press, the team can win the ball back high up the pitch and catch opponents out of position. The width provided by the full backs and wingers creates wide overloads that force the opposition to shift constantly, opening gaps for the midfielders to arrive late into the box.

This formation relies on high intensity and quick transitions to dominate games. It is best suited for facing teams that try to build play slowly from the back and struggle with intense pressing.
