Julen stays between the posts to organize the defensive line. The back four functions as a flat back four with Mantilla acting as a wide defender to provide width. The midfield works as a three-man midfield with a carrier. Maguette and Almeida occupy the central spaces to control the tempo, while Iván Martín plays as an attacking ten behind the striker to link the lines. Maguette works to win the second ball and intercept passes, while Almeida connects the defence to the attack. Iván Martín looks to find the feet of the striker or play through the lines to create immediate goal threats.

Racing uses three attackers across the front to maintain constant pressure. Zabiri acts as a pressing centre-forward to force long balls from the opposition. On the wings, Íñigo Vicente and Pablo García act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create space for the full backs.
