Starting Lineup

Fahmi · Alfa · Algi · Basir · Habil · AL · Faris · Azzam · ? · ? · ?

Lens focuses on a high press to win the ball back high up the pitch using a 4-3-3. This formation is built to play a vertical game that seeks to catch the opposition out of position through quick transitions. The goal is to squeeze the space in the opponent's half and use intense pressure to force errors.

Fahmi operates between the posts to organize the defensive line. The back four remains relatively compact, with Basir and AL acting as full backs who can push up to support the attack. In the middle, Alfa and Algi form the central pairing, where they must defend zonally and cover the space left when the full backs move forward. Alfa and Algi are tasked to stay deep and hold the line to prevent runs in behind.

The midfield uses a three-man midfield with a carrier to control the center of the pitch. Faris sits in front of the defense as a single pivot to shield the back four and recycle possession. Next to him, Habil and Azzam act as the engine, with Habil looking to carry the ball forward into the half spaces and Azzam providing support to win the second ball. This trio works to connect the defense to the attack by playing short from the back and moving through the thirds.

The attacking unit utilizes three attackers across the front to stretch the defense. The winger on the left and the winger on the right are tasked to spread wide and pull the opposition full backs out of position. These wide players can also cut inside to create central presence. The lone striker must lead the press from the front and try to pin the last defender to create space for the midfielders to arrive late into the box.

Lens gains a major advantage through the ability to press high in coordinated waves. When the forwards trigger a press, the midfield trio quickly moves up to compress the midfield and deny the turn to the opposition midfielders. Another strength is the potential for wide overloads when Basir or AL overlap the winger to create extra passing lanes. This allows the team to dominate the flanks during the attacking phase.

This 4-3-3 formation relies on intense energy and quick movement to disrupt the opponent. It is best suited for games against teams that struggle to play out from the back under heavy pressure.
