Livakovic · Christensen · Gerard Martín · Brian Fariñas · Xavi Espart · de Jong · Bernal · Olmo · Adeyemi · Gabriel Jesus · Gavi

Barcelona focuses on high pressing and heavy possession through a 3-4-3 formation. The lineup aims to squeeze the space in the opponent half to win it back high up the pitch and control the rhythm of the game. This setup relies on technical players who can play short from the back and move through the thirds with ease.

Livakovic sits between the posts to command his area. In front of him, a back three provides a solid base. Christensen acts as the ball playing defender who can step into midfield to create an extra man. Brian Fariñas and Gerard Martín operate as wide centre backs, tasked to cover the wide channels and defend zonally when the team is stretched. They must hold the line to ensure the opposition cannot play through the middle.

The midfield operates with a double pivot and two wide players. Bernal and de Jong occupy the central spaces, with de Jong known for his ability to carry the ball forward and his passing range. Bernal works to shield the defence and press in a mid-block when needed. Xavi Espart and Adeyemi provide the width, acting as wide midfielders who push up to support the attack. They must track back to help the back three and ensure the team does not get caught on the break.

Barcelona uses three attackers to stretch the defence. Gabriel Jesus plays as a pressing centre-forward, working to pin the last defender and fight for every ball. Gavi and Olmo operate as wide wingers, with Gavi often looking to cut inside to find pockets of space. This trio works in combinations to play through the lines and create chances. The movement of the front three is designed to create runs in behind and allow the midfielders to arrive late into the box.

One major advantage is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, with the front three and midfield working together to force a long ball from the opposition. Barcelona also gains control through the ability to play out from the back using Christensen to initiate play. The wide midfielders, Adeyemi and Xavi Espart, can provide extra support to create wide overloads against a back four.

This 3-4-3 formation creates a heavy presence in both the central areas and wide channels. It is best suited for games where the team needs to dominate possession and break down a low block.
